Alumina is the hardest and most widely used of the ceramic materials. It is applied, where a high wear resistance, good corrosion resistance and strength is necessary. Due to its high dielectric properties it is often applied for electronic products. DOCERAM's Alumina Materials differ in purity and grain size, resulting in different surface characters - from very fine to standard.

DOCERAM's Titania is a material with a fine grain size and softness. Titania is the perfect material, where a fine, tender surface is vital for the application, e.g. certain fibres. DOCERAM Spark is conductive and thus antistatic.

DOCERAM's Zirconia is applied where mechanical strength and physical stability is required. A high impact resistance, flexural strength and hardness make it ideal for tough and rugged usage. A fine grain size allows for extremely smooth surfaces and sharp edges. Our blue DOCERAM Cerazur is the result of constant research and development. It is the toughest ceramic material on the market today.

Silicon Nitride has a better thermal shock resistance than other ceramics. In combination with high strength, low thermal expansion, good corrosion resistance and fracture toughness, Silicon Nitride is often used in aerospace or automotive applications. Other applications are burner nozzles, molten metal processing etc.

Machinable glass ceramic DOCERAM G-600 is a highly electrical insulating, vacuum tight composite material of glass and ceramics. It is machinable with common tungsten carbide or high speed steel cutting tools by turning, milling, drilling and sawing. Due to the machinability, customers can produce the ceramic parts in their own common workshop or laboratory, mainly for applications as electrical insulators, vacuum components, etc. Different sizes of standard length or customers' parts are available.

DOCERAM technical ceramics are good standard ceramic qualities. They are cost-effective and can be used where basic ceramical properties are needed: wear-, corrosion-, and heat resistance, non-conductiveness. They are often used in electrical applications.

DOCERAM Cordierite is a yellow-brown Magnesium Alumina Silicate with a low density. The material has good electrical insulation properties. It has a low thermal expansion coefficient and a high resistance to thermal shock. Temperature resistance and mechanical strength are only moderate though. Parts from DOCERAM Cordierite are typically used as electrical insulators.
