Designing Guideline

This section shall support you when preparing your own design. Ceramics can be ground, lapped and polished to extreme tolerances. Due to the material characteristics, these tolerances will usually remain unchanged even in severe environments.

The table below gives you an impression about what is possible and which price levels have to be taken into consideration when certain tolerances are required.

Apart from tolerances, there are some basic rules about the design of ceramics which, when regarded, can reduce costs and prolong the life of your products greatly.

Please contact our application engineers for further information. They will be happy to support you with your particular design!
