Yixing DOCERAM
Engineered Ceramics Co., Ltd. is located in Yixing,
180 km west of Shanghai, at the west-banks of Taihu
Lake in Jiangsu Province, one of the furthest developed
provinces in China.
In May 1995 the company was established as a Joint Venture
with the local government, the German share being 75%,
the Chinese partner providing land and buildings. Machines
and technology were imported or customized built. Raw
materials were imported from Germany. Only with a strong
production, high quality raw materials and a good management
the company would be able to meet the strong European
competition.
A few months later, the company went into operation
with the production of Alumina thread guides and on
the 1st of January 1996, Thomas Krause took up his assignment
as the General Manager in China.
Yixing DO CERAM which had started with an exclusive
production for the German parent company became a success.
The quality well met the high European standards and
the price was extremely competitive.
As a result, in the following years the company ground
was enlarged and the paid in capital increased. The
German part of the investment rose to 97%.
Today the company stretches over 5800 square meters,
with three production areas and an office section. With
two foreign managers (Technical Director/General Manager)
and over 100 Chinese employees, the company is a well
managed and structured, independent company of the Moeschter
Group.

During 2 years
of exclusive production for DOCERAM Germany we were
witnessing, that Asian Textile Producers with imported
machines had to pay an unreasonably high price for good
imported ceramical thread guides, mostly as a result
of transportation, customs and a high-price policy of
the overseas suppliers - our competitors. Finally, in
1997 we decided to offer an alternative: thread guides
of German quality made in China.
The experience with European customers and quality standards
had taught good lessons and when the approach was made,
we were well prepared. A representative office in Shanghai
was established for our Shanghai and overseas customers
and new products were developed for the Asian markets
in particular.
The very hard but smooth and fibre-friendly character
of our imported material makes it the perfect match
for chemical fibre applications. It is for this reason,
that we were appointed "Supplier of the Chemical Fibre
Industry of China" by the "China Petrochemical Corporation"
(SINOPEC) in 2000.
Meanwhile, our spare parts for machines from Barmag,
Teijin Seiki, Murata, Scragg and others are sold all
over China as well as to Taiwan, Korea, India, Thailand,
Malaysia, Singapore and Pakistan. Our bestsellers are
Take-up Winders with imported PA shoes from Germany.
Assembled systems of ceramic and metal are also available.
Today we are not only supplying spare parts to textile
producers, but we are also delivering customized products
to textile machinery producers in Asia. Due to our excellent
moulding centre, we can produce virtually any shape
according to the customer's requirements. Some of China's
largest and most famous textile machinery producers
are among our customers.
Besides textile applications, high temperature, electric
and other industrial applications are constantly growing.
Among those are automobile, sensor technology, welding
and household products.

Yixing DOCERAM
is using a low-pressure injection moulding system for
the production of smaller sized parts.
The ceramic powder is mixed with a compound, based on
different paraphines and additives. The feedstock is
injected into the cavity of a mould and the injected
body finished by the manual removal of mould separation
lines.
This body is then slowly heated up for thermal debinding
during which the bonding material evaporates. The debinded
body is fired in a high temperature sintering process.
During this process, the molecules crystallize and the
ceramic part shrinks. After sintering, the ceramic part
is ready "as fired". In a final step, mechanical, chemical
and thermal treatments are applied to achieve defined
surface characteristics.
Large-size products
are dry-pressed. A ceramic granulate containing
a binder is pressed into a metal dye. The green
body is stable enough to be machined. Debinding
and sintering are done in one step.
For highest precision requirements, parts are diamond
ground.
The quality is supervised by an independent quality
control during the whole production process and the
ready made parts are finally checked one by one.
Dimension (DIN EN ISO 2768-1(c)), density, hardness,
surface structure, surface roughness (DIN EN ISO 4288),
and appearance are the items which are constantly measured
and checked during the production.
The quality of our products depends on our know-how.
Research and development are constantly involved into
improvement of the existing and creating of the new.
